Carrie by Stephen King. Is this revenge or something more?

This is another book I believe that shows how people can change us on the inside. In the book Carrie by Stephen King shows us again how we can change the history in our lives. In this book there are huge conflicts going on. The conflict is between Carrie vs. her mother, Carrie vs. Chris, and Carrie vs. herself. Carrie is girl in high school who is tortured by her mother and by her fellow students. Carrie’s mother is very strict and sometimes beat Carrie when she was young. Her fellow students constantly make fun of her beliefs and what she wears. Carrie soon discovers she has telekinesis and she soon develops it. Carrie is asked out by a boy to the prom. When she goes to the prom she falls victim to a horrible prank by Chris. That is when all hell breaks loose. People believe the main theme is revenge. In my personal opinion I don’t believe that is true. I think this book shows us a different side of human nature. It shows us how we as people create our own monsters in this world.  Carrie was just a girl trying to get through life as best as she could. It is hard enough dealing with an abusive mother but being constantly tortured by girls her own age will slowly make anyone go insane. If these girls didn’t pick on Carrie maybe there would have been a different end to this story. Maybe Carrie could have had nice happy life away from home. Instead the girls decide to punish her for being different. Everyday this happens in our society and people never want to take the blame of being the true reason of why it happens. Carrie never wanted to be a monster that people fear at night but the people around her created her that way.
